Sleep Training

Jake has officially been crying for 48 minutes and my doctor said to let him go 90. Sleep training is officially the hardest part about being a mom. I am about to pull my hair out I feel so bad. Anybody have some good tips to get through it? I am desperate.

Go to a place where you can't hear it for those 3-5 hard nights. That's half the battle! Just know that next week he will be a happier camper and will never remember a thing. Hang in there...it is a tough thing to do but so worth it for him and you both...but mostly him :) xo

Hi Caroline, this is Sarah (Tate) Ames. I just found your blog. Read Secrets of the Baby Whisperer by Tracey Hogg. It really helped with all three of my babies. She uses great techniques to help your baby learn to fall asleep on their own. I swear by her book. Hang in there, that is such a hard thing to deal with!

baby wise. baby wise. baby wise. it is the most amazing book. it's all about getting your baby on a routine and how to get them to SLEEP through the night. some of it is a little crazy - some would say "nazi" about how to do things - but take it all in with a grain of salt and do what works best for you and your schedule. all my in-laws are hooked on it and we all swear by it. give it a try.

theres a variety of books that cover the different stages. 0-12 months... 12-24 months... and so on and so on. get the first one. you might beable to find it at babies r us (i got mine at an AZ location), but you could get it on line or maybe at barnes and noble.

this was my bible, and soon again will be! good luck!

I agree with Steph...go where you can't hear him. Then appreciate all the smiles you get when he wakes up (or when 90 minutes are up)...I promise they don't remember a thing! Good luck, sweetie!

Babywise was my "guide" but you still have to deal with some of those crying nights...so, go in a place where you cant hear, or put on head phones...seriously, you cant survive without a baby who sleeps through the night! Well, at least I cant...
